What are you doing to go green?

Friday, November 20, 2009

I have to admit. Up until about 5 years ago I didn't make a valiant effort to go green. In fact I was even entirely sure what it meant. Now, a lot of companies are making it easier for you to go green.

Annie Chun soup bowls for example, Their soup bowl containers are made from cornstarch so they are biodegradable. (their soups are delice too!)
Seventh Generation is another company that all their products are environmentally friendly. Buying products like these can not only help the environment but maybe encourage more companies to do so.

My kids learn about helping the environment in school. Our community building has recycle bins you can drop your items for free for cardboard, newspapers and plastic. I'm still pushing for a community recycle collection. Until then my son reminds me to recycle and help take our recyclables to the bins.

Think about reusing your empty packaging or give it to someone who may use them. I use empty jelly jars for my soy candle making. My kids school takes the empty plastic baby food containers to sort items, painting, and other classroom needs. Search the web for cute kids craft projects to do with empty coffee cans, toilet paper rolls, empty baby food jars, and more.

CHI Silk Infusion

Monday, November 16, 2009

I picked this up at Winners for $16. A good deal, I think. It's the second largest bottle of it, I think it usually retails for about $25-$30.

I've only been using it for roughly a week, but it's definitely a product I'm liking. It's almost a liquidy shampoo-like consistency. Don't use too much or stray far from your ends, though, cause it WILL make you hair a bit greasy! But... it makes it SUPER soft and amazingly shiny as well. It gives me supermodel hair. For serious. I can't stop touching my hair.

NYX Trio

Sunday, November 15, 2009

I got my first trio from NYX the other day. The colours are Nude/Taupe/Dark Brown.

I really like it. I had heard that the trios weren't as good as the individuals, but this one is very easy to use and the colours aren't chalky or too sheer. I hate using the word "pigmented", but... they are surprisingly so. I also got it for a pretty good price.. my local PharmaPlus had NYX on for 20% off, so with tax it was 9$! Definitely gonna check out some more of these!

What Scent defines ME?

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

I'm having a hard time deciding on what scent defines me. Thinking of all the perfumes I wear (In which i always have bunch available depending on my mood), the candles scents I like (many depending on my mood and the room I'm putting it in) and I have a hard time throwing out just one scent. I guess if i had to name one, I'd go with Jasmine. My husband loves the smell of Jasmine. He kind of introduced me to the scent. When I purchase fragrances and candles I always look to see if they have a jasmine scent.

I think it's a sophisticated scent. Not quite sweet but definetly pleasant.

Bella Swan hair from New Moon

Monday, November 2, 2009

Here's my newest video, Bella Swan's hair from New Moon. Her hair is a bit different in this movie. It's a lot straighter, with just the ends curling. Her hair is really long though, so by "the ends", I'm thinking of "jaw-line and lower". I think it turned out really nicely, but it's too bad my hair refuses to stay curled for a long period of time :(
