April favorites- trying some new things!
Monday, May 2, 2011
I'm getting this month's favorites post up on time, yes! Last month's was just a giant fail. But I've been trying a lot of different products lately (finally), so I was really looking forward to doing a favorites post again!
I have a post coming soon with my skincare favorites- stay tuned for that as well.
Too Faced Primed & Poreless Bronze Tint, Sigma F80, L'Oreal Double Extend Illuminator mascara, C.O. Bigelow Lemon & Raspberry lip balm, Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips eyeliner, Laura Mercier Illuminating tinted moisturizer
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips eyeliner for green eyes- I bought these eyeliners when they were 40% off a couple weeks ago, and used a $5 off coupon that was floating around on the internet. I only paid around $2 for them- awesome! The color here is a medium taupe; I apologize that I can't really photograph it better (see the swatch below for a better picture of the true color!). I love using this on my lower lash line. I have a really hard time finding eyeliner colors that don't look too harsh on my lower lash line, and before using this I didn't really line my lower half for that reason. It's a little creamier than I'd like, but once it sets it doesn't budge.
Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush- I received this brush after joining Sigma's Beauty Affiliate Incentives program, and I'm so so impressed. It's become my new favorite brush for stippling foundation- the brush head is small enough to get around my nose and under my eyes, and it doesn't eat up all my foundation.
L'Oreal Double Extend Illuminator mascara for green eyes- I actually got this as part of a BzzCampaign through BzzAgent. I meant to review it on here but didn't get around to writing a post. It's funny- I actually really disliked this until this week. The formula must have gotten to the right consistency, because now it really volumizes and thickens my lashes to my liking. I still don't like the "illuminator" side (not a fan of glittery lashes), but the mascara is pretty good!
Laura Mercier Illuminating tinted moisturizer- You can read my review of this HERE if you'd like! I received it from Jennifer earlier in the month and just love it. Currently, I'm needing something with heavier coverage because my skin is hating me :/ but as soon as it clears up I'll be right back to using it!
C.O. Bigelow Lemon & Raspberry lip balm- These were on sale for $3 last week at C.O. Bigelow, along with all the other lip products from the brand. I bought this and a tinted lip gloss (although there's not much of a tint to it after all!). I looove the smell/taste of this, along with how well it moisturizes my lips and makes them shine.
Too Faced Primed & Poreless Bronze Tint sample- My sister got this with a Sephora purchase and gave it to me. I've only been using it this week, but I really love it so far. I can hardly feel it once it's on my skin, it's easy to blend, and the tan tint is very subtle- not orange in the slightest. I'm not much of a primer girl so this isn't something I'd purchase in a full size, but it's fun to try out. (And as for the "evening out skin tone" claims, I noticed some corrective qualities, but not many to make a big difference.)

That's it for my monthly makeup favorites! Anything you guys have been using as well? Like I mentioned earlier, stay tuned for my skincare favorites (a very, very long overdue post!).
Happy May! :)
