Review: Montagne Jeunesse Beauty masks

Sunday, July 10, 2011

Montagne Jeunesse products have been around for a while. They are made in the UK. I actually remember picking up some of these little convenient mask packets when I was around 12 years old and giving myself a facial. I've found their products in a number of stores near me like WalMart for instance and on Amazon.

Montagne Jeunesse products are an affordable way to pamper your skin.  Their website is selling them right now for $2.25 a packet and get a second one for 74 cents.  I believe I saw them a little cheaper than that at WalMart.

They offer a variety of masks for whatever your skin care needs or concerns.  Just a few of the many choices are Crystal Masque to condition skin, Fudge Sauna self heating mask to draw out impurities, revitalize, refresh, and moisturize and Passion Peel Off Mask to deep cleanse and purify.  There are many options though including masks specifically for men and hair masks.  They even make their own pore strips for only $2.99 a pack!

I recently just try the Fudge Sauna mask.  The instructions tell you to cleanse your skin with water only.  Then apply mask while skin is still wet.  The packets size is very generous.  There was plenty to apply to my face and neck.  This mask is not a hardening mask.  It has something of a honey texture on my skin without the stickiness.  I could feel teh self heating effect as soon as it hit my skin.  Within a few seconds however the heating feeling died down.  The smell of this particular mask is incredible.  It's vanilla fudge fragrance.  To be honest it was a little bit of a temptation on my face.  It smelled so good I wanted to lick it off.  Of course, that would not have been a good idea, not to mention nearly impossible.  The instructions state to leave it on for 10-15 minutes.  I left it on the full 15 minutes.  It has sort of a tan color to it.

The mask was easy to remove.  My skin felt so soft and smooth after I rinsed it off.  I think these masks would be great to pick up for a girls night in or just to give yourself a little pampering.  Think about this, a mother/daughter beauty night including these mask.  Wouldn't that be fun?

Check out the site to find their specials and close outs too for even more savings.

Skillet Bacon Jam Review

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Skillet Bacon Jam. I know it sounds kind of odd right? To my husband and my boys it sounds like a little taste of bacon heaven.

Here is the description from the makers of Skillet Bacon Jam:

"  we make this bacon spread condiment called bacon jam..you say what?.. that’s right, we use niman ranch bacon and render it down along with onions, balsamic and other spices . It cooks for several hours until it is a perfect blend of smoky, tangy, savory and slightly sweet….basically spreadable bacony goodness!  USDA approved.

more information is available at www.skilletbaconjam.com  "

I opened the container.  It looked kind of pulpy.  I could smell the ranch scent along with some of the bacon  I tried it on some Italian bread first.  It wasn't reallly the flavor I thought it would be.  I was imagining bacony, salty, maybe even a little greasy, probably a taste of ranch.  There was a bunch of different flavors. You could taste the balsamic vinegar as well.  My husband liked it.  The kids didn't really.  I could go either way.  I think this would be a great dip/spread for your holidays on a cracker tray or for your tailgate parties.

Hair Flairs Review and Giveaway---CLOSED

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Hair Flairs Pro Hair Tinsel is a unique, fun, and easy way to add a different look to your hair.  I've seen these and thought how neat they would look if they really looked that way when I put them in.  If you recall from a previous review, I admit, I'm no hairstylist by any stretch of the imagination.  I'm lucky if I can put a pony tail in straight.  When I received my hair flairs to review, I was a little nervous. The informational brochure was talking about offering them in your Salon to customers and such.  After reading that I'm thinking, "oh my they chose the wrong girl for this job."

Then I read over the step by step instructions provided.  Actually, I think I CAN do this.  The for good measure i watched Hair Flair's instructional video on youtube:

The information says you can brush and style your hair with the Hair Flairs in.  You can even use a curling iron or straight iron.  The instructions give options for if you want them in for only a day or two OR if you'd like them in as long as possible.  It says 1-6 weeks depending on the strength of the knots.

So ok here goes nothing.  Guess what people?! I did it!  I don't think it turned out too bad either.

The Hair Flair strands are really long.  I have hair that just goes past my shoulders.  I cute the strands in half and was still able to fold them in half as the instructions state.  I still had to trim a little off the end when I was done.  Given my non-skills in hair styling my hair tinsel came out after 2 days.  I then decided to try it in my sisters hair.  She was so excited to have the gold color strands since she has dark hair like mine and we're Steeler's fans!  My sister has tight curly hair that is just above her shoulders.  Here's how her's turned out:

I had fun with these.  These are a fun way to support your sports team, for holidays, parties, teens, special occasions, or anytime.  There are so many colors to choose from as well.

Buy it:  you can place an order for Hair Flairs right on their website: www.hairflairs.com.  If you're a beauty supplier or salon you can get the wholesale also to add to your salon services.

Review Summary:  At only $10 for 60 36" strand this is a great alternative to getting an affordable and unique look.  Think about this mom: $10 for a temporary cool look for your teen OR yourself without damaging hair dyes.  This would also be a fun addition to girls night-out.  And as I stated in my review, with the length of my hair I was actually able to cut the strand in half and get 2 strands out of it to stretch that dollar even further.
