Love strawberries? Now you can have them in the shower, too!

Thursday, May 26, 2011

I had been looking for this new Softsoap Body Butter Strawberry Smoothers body scrub for what seemed like the longest time!  I first saw it via G (of Nouveau Cheap)'s review a few months ago, which sparked my interest.  When I finally found it at my Target last weekend, I picked it up without thinking twice.

I used the Coconut version of this body scrub last year and loved it- this new scent is no less amazing!

Softsoap Body Butter Strawberry Smoothers

I love how moisturizing this is- the number one thing I look for in body scrubs/washes is that silky feeling after I rinse them off.  This doesn't leave my skin dry or irritated whatsoever; rather, it's left smooth and soft.  The scent is my favorite part outside of the formula!  If you've ever smelled the Mario Badescu Strawberry Scrub, this body scrub smells just like it.  It's like a strawberry smoothie, and it's so yummy that I almost want to eat it!  (If it were edible, obviously.... ;)  The scent doesn't last on my skin outside the shower, though, which is actually a positive for me.  This way I can still wear my favorite perfume or body lotion without worrying about it clashing.

For about $5 (or less on sale) and a whopping 20 ounces of product, I totally recommend this body wash- especially if you love strawberries!

My current favorite body washes & a deal!

Sunday, July 11, 2010

Hey everyone.  Sorry about the lack of posts yesterday; I worked during the day, then drove to my boyfriend's house (He lives in a town an hour away from me) for the night.  It was a busy day/night, but today is my "relax" day.  It's been sooo nice so far!

For this post I wanted to share with you three of my current favorite body washes.  Body wash is something I never used to buy or use, but now it's a part of my showers that I look forward to!  I tend to use an awful amount of it at once (Like, instead of using a quarter-sized amount for my entire body, I probably use 2 quarter-sized amounts for both my arms and legs.  Lol), but I can explain.  For one, I love using a lot at once.  And two, I grow tired of a scent before I can use up the entire bottle of it.
Anyway.
These three each have a different consistency, which is partly why I chose them.  They each smell pretty different, too (But wonderful nonetheless).  You can find them all at your local drugstore.

St. Ive's Oatmeal & Shea Butter, Softsoap Body Butter Coconut Scrub, Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate & Mango Infusions

(Top to bottom- Softsoap Pomegranate/Mango, Softsoap Coconut scrub, St. Ive's Oatmeal/Shea Butter)

St. Ive's Oatmeal & Shea Butter is a moisturizing body wash, designed for dry or irritated skin.  I love the creamy consistency of this, and the smell is very neutral in comparison to the other two.  Can I just say that the combination of oatmeal & shea butter is maybe my most favorite soothing smell?

Softsoap Body Butter Coconut Scrub was referred to me by the beauty girl at Walgreens.  I was looking for a good daily exfoliating wash, and she directed me to this one.  If you like coconut, I'd highly recommend this.  It smells divine, and it's exfoliating but still creamy (Not like one of those thick body scrubs that is basically all exfoliant).

Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate & Mango Infusions is the body wash that got me into body washes.  It has "moisture beads" in it that remind me of exfoliating beads, but don't have that scratchy feel.  This smell wakes me up when I take showers in the morning.  The texture is more of a gel than cream, but it's a nice change from the other two.

Lastly, I wanted to share a pretty good deal on Neutrogena, but it has to do with ShopKo.  Unfortunately I don't think there are any ShopKo locations in the South or East coat, so this wouldn't be something everyone could take advantage of.
This week ShopKo has Neutrogena eyeshadow, liner, and mascara BOGOfree.  Allyou.com's coupon page has a $3/1 coupon for any Neutrogena product.  If you combine that with the BOGO deal, you could get two products for very cheap.  I'm not too sure how much ShopKo marks up its Neutrogena products, but I'm going to head over there today and find out.  I'll update this and let you know!

Thanks for reading everyone.  Hope you're having a good last day of your weekend.

It's Complete!

Monday, June 28, 2010

Today I got the last Wet 'n' Wild 6 eyeshadow palette that I needed to complete my set: Vanity.  I know this isn't groundbreaking or anything (There are only 4 palettes), but I've never had all of one type of makeup collection.  I'm happy! :)  The best part about this was the price I got it for.  I purchased it at my local grocery store, and while the sticker said $4.99, it rang up on sale for $3.74.  I saved $1.25!

Vanity is on the far right, in the front.  It's the brown/gold most-neutral palette of the four.

Swatches (In same order as palette):
I just love these!  So pigmented, and each palette gives you a completely different look.  In my opinion, someone who's not that into makeup or doesn't care to have many different eyeshadows could buy these 4 palettes and call it good for eyeshadow (Like my sister, who pretty much just needs one of every wearable shade and that's enough).

Anyway, when I was at the grocery store I also picked up some new body wash, St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter:
I've been using the Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate & Mango Infusions for like the last 6 months, and I'm finally tiring of it.  This one just has a creamy consistency.  I've been wanting to make my own body scrub by adding some sugar to a body wash, so I thought this would work perfectly.

And lastly, I thought I'd post about something I did today: I finally lit my Yankee Candle tart warmer!  I got it from a girlfriend a couple years ago, and it's been sitting on my desk unused for the longest time.  I had tarts in Vanilla Lime and Sage & Citrus, and I decided to light the Vanilla Lime.  You put a tea light in the bottom opening, and then set the tart in the top.  Once the candle gets going, it slowly melts the tart.  And your house starts to smell lovely.  :)
My mom & I went to the mall earlier, and I went into Yankee Candle to see if they had any more of the tarts.  They had a bunch for $1, so I picked up one called Spa Fresh.  I also got another car fragrance gel in Pineapple Cilantro.  My car smells awesome, haha.
I'm going to start lighting my tart warmer a lot more from now on.  It's so relaxing.

Hope you're all having a good Monday, and thanks for reading.  :)

Another great bargain buy from AVON!

Monday, January 4, 2010

My boys are getting to the age that they still act like kids but think they don't want the "little kid stuff" like maybe they don't want the Disney Cars toothbrush anymore but they fight over who wants the blue toothbrush and who will get the green one. Anyway, they love the men's body washes from AVON. I started buying them for them a few months ago. For them I personally like the "Wild Country" scent because it's light and smells fresh. For the hubby, however, I LOVE, the "Perceive" fragrance. OMG...um...I'll just leave it at that lol.

Sorry I went into LaLa land for a minute. Anyway, AVON has a great buy on the body washes now. Buy 1 get 1 free. That's an awesome deal. Plus I used the code: WINTER5 to get free shipping. I actually have an AVON lady I love so much. She has awesome customer service and is very knowledgable about their products. Go get the deals! Make your men smell GOOD! And yes you can order online.
