Site for online parties and vendor fairs

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Alot of people i know have a little business on the side from home OR work at their home business as their main job. I'm talking about AVON, Diamond Creek Candles, Mary Kay, Tupperware, etc etc.

One thing that has become popular is online parties and online vendor fairs. If you search online for a place to have your own online party you'll find that some sites charge a fee for you to be able to have a party to sell your items. Some of them $1 for a 1 hour spot, some of them more. One site that I found that i like is "my vendor eparty" http://myvendorparty.webs.com/

It's free for a half hour party and only $1 for an hour. That's for vendors. If you'd like to be a hostess for an online party you can talk to your favorite vendor and they can use this room.

I'm a Diamond Creek Candles Independent Consultant. www.angiescandle.info
I was part of a vendor fair the site had on September 28 and had a decent turn out. I recommend this site to vendors and host/hostesses a like.

Also if you'd like to host a Diamond Creek Candles online party please contact me via email: angiedcc@yahoo.com And I'll be glad to set something up for you. I offer 1 free 6 oz mozzafiato candle OR 7.5 oz diamond jar candle to the hostess if she has at least 3 people stay for her/his scheduled online party.

Mini CCO Haul

Monday, September 28, 2009

Mini Haul! My folks went to the states for a weekend, and my mom picked me up some MAC stuff at the CCO near where they went!

She got me:
184 fan brush
189 foundation brush
paintpot in Moss Scape
Pigment in Helium
Strobe Undercover base in Peachiness
Strobe Lotion

So far I'm loving all of it! I had asked her for the strobe lotion, but they also had the base, so she got me both! They really do make you glow. I've been alternating between the Strobe base and my Prep + Prime, and I use the Strobe liquid when I'm feeling a bit tired (every day! hahaha) and could use a little boost in the radiance department...

The fan brush is great- I've been trying it out with different products to see what it will be used for on a regular basis. So far I've tried contouring, highlighting, and blending out liquid blushes. We'll see.

The 189 foundation brush is amazing! It's a huge paddle brush, but very soft and smooths liquid foundation on beautifully. I saw on Temptalia that it's also good for applying MSF, so I tried that. Not as good as my kabuki or SS109, so I think I'll be sticking with liquid foundation!!

Helium pigment: Very light pink, quite chunky glitter. Definitely a beautiful colour, but super glittery and shimmery. I've been using it as a lid and inner corner colour with Girlie and Heritage Rouge pigment.

Moss Scape paintpot: Haven't used this yet, but so so so so so beautiful. I haven't been in the mood for a green eye, but I hope to be soon.

Thanks for reading!
Love you all.

Sigma Brush Giveway coming soon....

Sigma was so sweet to send me their amazing brushes to give away. They were so generous and each package was put together with such love and care.

Keep a look out on my youtube channel (www.youtube.com/sardun1)... I'm going to be loading up the video tomorrow or the next day.

I'll be doing a proper review on them as well. I do have to say I really love them. I personally can't afford tons of MAC brushes. Sigma brushes are very comparable to MAC yet very affordable.

Good luck in my contest.... be on the look out for it!

Night, bellas!

How do you get fruits and veggies into your kids diet?

www.LittleBlends.com wants to know. I let my kids choose the vegetable to have with dinner. If they pick it out then they usually like it. Also doing things like adding cheese sauce on the broccoli, brown sugar to the carrots, etc seems to be appealing to them. They love fruits but like most kids may not be their first choice for snack. My kids love apple slices with peanut butter. Also when I cook, for instance making a stir fry, I mix pineapple into the dish. They love that.

My kids love yogurt. In the summer we also make our own juice pops with ice cube trays and toothpicks. (use bigger sticks like lollipop or popsicle sticks for smaller children) pour their favorite juice in an ice cube tray, put cling wrap over top and insert sticks through cling wrap to hold sticks in place until it's frozen solid. My kids like this because they get to choose the flavor and help make it.

twittermoms.com and www.littleblends.com is having a blogging contest. If you'd like to participate too check out this site for more info:

Mission Foundation

In the last few months I was really on a mission to try and find the *perfect* foundation. A few times I felt I was really close and then it either broke me out bad or didn't look good in natural lighting. Here are my thoughts on what I've tried so far (or at least the ones I could think of off the top of my head.... yes I do have a problem).

1. MUFE HD Foundation- I adore this foundation. To me...it's pretty close to perfection. It give a very natural finish. You can still see your skin through it yet it covers beautifully. If you are getting your picture taken...WEAR THIS. You will glow. It doesn't really have a scent, didn't break me out, isn't too thick, you only need a pump or two, photographs amazing and the color selection is out of this world! LOVE IT.

2. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk- My first report on this was really good however my thoughts have changed. It broke me out!:( The color selection is not great. I first tried 5.5 and it was too dark and made me orange than I tried 4.5 and 5...and those were too light. It looks great on your skin (at first) but it didn't last all day. Nice foundation but in the end didn't work for me. It's wayy to much money, too.

3. MAC Studio Fix Fluid- I hate this stuff with a passion. It smells horrible....the smell gave me a terrible headache. It broke me out really bad....like cystic acne bad (a common problem with this foundation) It was a tad too thick for me. I don't recommend this stuff.

4. Revlon Colorstay- this is almost a dupe for MAC SFF however it doesn't have a terrible smell, it doesn't clog the pores meaning no break outs for me, and it's only $10! This is a full coverage foundation so I'm not in love with it...I feel it masks my face too much. I do recommend this one, though. Great price, great product (if you like full coverage).

5. Chanel Pro Lumiere- at first I really liked this one... but again it broke my skin out. I wasn't crazy about the scent. It's a med/full coverage foundation and can feel a little oily on the skin. At first I was totally digging it but as soon as I looked at my face in natural lighting... I looked BAD. It set into all my pores and didn't last that long. I'm not a fan. It's a lot of money, too.

6. DIOR Nude- Not a fan *gasp* I think the consistency is kinda weird. It seems a little watery/chunky to me. The coverage was ok but not great. It didn't impress me. This foundation also broke me out.

7- MAC Studio Sculpt-At first this foundation looks amazing on... it goes on smooth because of it's unique gel like formulation. I remember looking in the mirror and thinking "wow". 30 minutes later it looked terrible. It wears off really fast and sets into pours. Yuck. Also, like with most MAC foundations...caused chin break outs. :(

8-Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free- I adore this foundation. For a tinted moisturizer the coverage is really great. It covers all my redness and uneven skin tone. It's perfect for summer and gives a great glow. You still look like you and that's what I love the most!

9-Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (regular)- the oil free version and regular are night and day. The regular version is watery, doesn't cover or go on well and was not worth more than two tries. It went back to the store.

10-Lancome Teint Idole Ultra- this is a really amazing foundation that not many people talk about. It has amazing coverage, long wearing (site says up to 14 hours), it goes on smooth. It really recommend this and really need to spread the word on it because I don't think many woman know how good this foundation is.
So, my final thoughts are MUFE HD is hands down the WINNER!!!
What foundations do you love or hate?
Have a good weekend! MUAH!

getting high style clothing at a good price

Friday, September 11, 2009

I'm always looking for a good deal. It's like a game for me. One way I've found to get good quality clothing for a fraction of the cost is to buy at the end of the season. For instance, a store is getting ready for their winter merchanise so they put their summer clothes on clearance. I buy them out of season for my kids and just buy them a size or 2 bigger. I have 3 boys and I've gotten pretty good at estimating their size for next year. Buying things like jeans, khaki shorts, polo shirts is easy too because they are classic and don't go out of style.

I also use store reward programs. If it's free to sign up i'm there. So even if I don't accumulate enough rewards it didn't cost me anything extra AND I have a tendency to lean toward the stores I have a rewards program with when i'm planning on a purchase.

The perfect illuminator's...SMASHBOX Artifical Light Luminizing Lotion

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

(I used FLASH all over my face and Glow on my cheeks/forehead/temples :)
I also used my new favorite lipgloss- Bambi by Buxom Lips!)

I'm in love.... with Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion that is. I've been looking for a product to give me a healthy natural looking glow....this product doesn't disappoint! It adds the most amazing radiance to your skin. It's not disco ball shimmery either. It's just perfect.
How you can use this product is either mix it with your foundation or moisturizer is give your face an all over glow but if that's not what you want then you can add a few drops to the bridge of your nose, cupids bow on your lips, and on your cheek bones to give a nice highlight.
I got the colors Flash and Glow. Flash is perfect to add with your foundation. It's a light champagne color and gives the right amount of dewyness to your skin. The color Glow can be used more as a bronzer highlight. It looks AMAZING on your cheeks, forehead and temples.
Also, as you can see from the pictures this product is a liquid illuminator... it it can be kinda watery but it's worth it. Just use ONE pump and you are good to go!

This products is everything I've been looking for and more. It's only $24! Other products like this I looked at were $40 and up! You only need a teeny tiny bit so this product will last you forever!!

Have you tried this yet??
I know this GLOW looks scary dark but seriously it isn't in person.
