Oliver's Labels Review

Saturday, October 16, 2010

There are many companies that offer labels now. Mailing labels, personalizations, labels for containers, whatever.  While most of them are nice, there's really nothing that seemed to set company "A" apart from company "B".

I had the opportunity to try Oliver's Labels.  They had really cute designs to choose from.  Click here to check out the designs available from Oliver's Labels.  I chose the Transportation set to label items for my youngest.  I had read on the site that their labels were waterproof.  I thought, well, there's an added benefit that not all labels have.  I received my set in the mail. The set I got to review included shoe labels, original labels, clothing labels,  and mini labels.

The first thing I did was to stick one on one of my son's sippy cups.  He has a cousin about the same age.  It's sometimes not easy to tell who's things are whose.

The labels are well made and almost felt like a thin plastic.  I was skeptical as to how well they would really stay on the items.  The sippy cup above has been washed at least 10 times since the label had been applied.  The label still looks like the day I put it on the cup.

The next thing I did was to test out the clothing label.  I took one of the clothing label tabs I put it on the tag in my son's zip-up hoodie.

I was impressed with the way it stayed in his jacket.  I thought for sure it would peel off and I'd find it stuck to his shirt when I took it off.  The label is still in place even after wearing it about 4 times since the label was placed.

The shoe labels were very cute.  Feet shaped, they are meant to stick on the soles of shoes.  I placed them in my son's shoes.  Again I thought, these would not stay.  With him creeping around, constantly undoing his shoes, and such, I thought the labels would have gone missing the first time he wore them.  Again, they are still in tact and do not seem to bother my son at all.

Here he is at a local farm we went to for their pumpkin fest wearing the jacket and shoes with the labels on.

Another added benefit of Oliver's Labels is the optional Found-it code that can be added to the labels.  It is a free and optional service Oliver's Labels offers.  It's a lost and found code.  If someone finds an item with the label that has the Found-it code, there is a message on the tag that directs the person to go to olivers labels website.  The person types in the code that's on the label and you receive an email alert that tells you someone found the missing item.

I'm not aware of any other label company that offers this free service.

They offer many other tags as well such as: Safety wristbands, bag tags, Kosher kitchen, labels, custom photo labels, iron-on clothing labels, allergy stickers, and more.

Where to buy:  You can purchase Oliver's Labels through their website:  www.oliverslabels.com

Review Summary:   Oliver's Labels definitely get the thumbs up from me.  Durable, cute, personalizable, the optional found-it code, and only $19.99 for 40 of the original labels.  This item is a good deal.  With the found it code and stay put labeling, they will probably ending saving you money in the long run.  (Really, I mean how many times have you picked your kid up from daycare or the babysitters and they didn't know what happend to your child's favorite sippy cup or bottle only to discover it was sent home with another child).

These would be great to add to a mom-to-be's gift or even get them for yourself for those moochers in the office.

***I received a set of personalized Oliver's labels at no cost to complete a proper review.  I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post.  All opinions expressed are my own. ***
