So, as you girls know I've been wanting to get my hair chemical straighted for sometime. I got an e-mail from a salon I've gone to a few times and they were having a spa week with some specials and that included hair straightening for $50! Sounded good to me. I nervously drove 50 minutes in the snow to get there. The stylist didn't seem like she really knew what she was doing. She kept saying "I hope this is working, I hope this working. The ends are starting to curl."

So... here is how my professional chemical straightening came out... or didn't come out to be correct!
It's still curly/wavy and now it feels like straw!!!:( :(
She said it probably didn't take because I just had a baby and am nursing him so the hormones could play a factor in that. Would have been nice if she told me that before she put chemicals on my hair in vain.

EDIT- I did NOT pay for it! I would have been mad if I did because it nothing from my hair but dry it out! Thanks for your comments!!:)

A horrible product design but I'm glad I'm in on the secret!

I'm talking about the Urban Decay Primer Potion! Amazing product...HORRIBLE product design but they know what they are doing. They know that thousands of girls buy this and think that the tube is empty, throw it away and buy a new one.. but ah-ha... it's not...there is still MONTHS of product left. Thankfully I found a great video on YT that informed me about this and what to do about it!
In the video she said to take a very sharpe knife and cut it down the center... I opted to use these amazing magic scissors called "Open it". A knife sounded way to hard and dangerous for my liking. A finger is not worth a few more months of UDPP.
I used the "Open it" and after some pressure (maybe 3 times) it cracked and it pulled the tube apart. Let me tell you... I was SHOCKED. I'd seen it on YT but still I was shocked. There was SO much UDPP left.
I'm so happy I found out to do this but a little disappointed that a company would knowingly let consumers waste so much product...more money for them I guess.
Here are so pictures... look how much I got!! Next time your UDPP is running low and you are scraping the inside tube...don't throw it away! You still have months of product left!

My coastal scents 15 pan palette came today! For the price... you can't beat it. I believe it was $7. It's quite small and I really like that. I don't need anything big and balky in my life.. I have to many things taking up space as it is.
So, my night was spent with a flat iron, wax paper and a knife! No burns or cuts to report either! Amen.

Here is the palette I did tonight. Most of the shadows are MAC if they aren't then I will tell you which ones aren't.

My new makeshift vanity

A while ago I did a post about wanting a vanity because I was doing my make-up in my closet in front of a full length mirror. That was NOT working and it make quite a mess on our new carpet plus my son would get into my make-up daily and I'd find my mascara thrown in the bathtub or my lip stuck under the couch. I finally got around to getting one set up. It's a makeshift vanity for sure but it works for me. It's nothing fancy or special but I'm excited. I've only used it once and really haven't set it up yet but here it is. I still need a fancy chair to go with it. My mother in-law saw a chair she thinks will go perfect with it so that's next. :) YAY!

Slimshine Swatches

Hi! In my previous post I briefly talked about the MAC Slimshine in Gentle Simmer. It's a sheer pink with white pearl shimmer. It's a very beautiful color! It's $14.50 but I got free (and I got a 2nd Bare, too)because I returned my empties. YAY!

Nothing new

Sorry for not posting in a while... I just haven't been inspired lately. I really haven't gotten anything new. I got a few things from MAC but nothing to thrilling (except I'm in love with my Gentle Simmer Slimshine! It's BEAUTIFUL!). It's super cold here and I really don't ever leave my house..it's way to hard with two kids under two. It's an ordeal to go anywhere.

SO, just wanted to say that I'm still here and will do some reviews soon... I just need to find some inspiration! I think my priorities are shifting and my obsession with make-up is calming down a bit... which is a good thing.
But, it's still an obsession so don't worry to much... I'm not going anywhere!

Make-up is fun, creative and beautiful! It's a big passion of mine and I get a thrill every time I step inside a Sephora's. All the colors jump out at me and for some reason it makes me happy but peel back the layers of all it's superficialness and I'm just me. I don't need make-up to make me happy or feel good. It doesn't define who I am. If you wear a $5 dollor lipstick or a $25 lipstick it doesn't make you a better person... it's lipstick for crying out loud. If you make nothing or make a million... that doesn't define the person within.
What defines you is your heart, your kindness, your compassion, your rudeness, your judgementle attitude. Those things define the person you are.... not make-up, the brands you use, not where you shop, not what you do. I hope you all find the beauty that's in your heart and find that the most beautiful of all. When you are a beautiful person inside that $5 dollor lipstick will look like a $1,000. When you are nasty no matter how much expensive make-up you pile on... noboby is gonna notice.
So, behind every beautiful done up face and painted lip is a heart... let's make that heart worth more than all the cosmetics one could buy. I garentee if your heart is gold than you will most definalty be the most beautiful woman in the room...at least in my eyes!:)

A cheaper way....

Mizzworthy has informed me that there is a much better and cheaper way to go about getting a very quick face with mineral make-up than I told you about in my previous post about the Philosophy's Supernatural powder. I had heard about the Puff Jar from Everyday Minerals a while ago but I didn't give it much thought because I already had the Supernatural powder with a puff jar. The Supernatural is a good product but I love Bare Minerals 10X's better. I would use the Supernatural because it did give me a nice result and it was suuuppper quick but I wouldn't use it if I was going out anywhere important, ya know?
So, Missworthy reminded me about it and it's only $4 (the Supernatural is $34)!!! It comes empty to you can add your very favorite mineral powder to it. Perfect for on the go or in a hurry!

My favorite green/teal color eyeshadows

I know they (who is "they" anyways? I say do what you want!) say don't match your eyeshadow to your eye color but I kinda like to do that sometimes. I think it makes your eyes pop even more. I have greenish/teal/blue eyes so I like to kinda play them up with a matching color. These two colors are my FAVORITE.

My #1 favorite is by Urban Decay and it's called Green Goddess. It's a very pretty green/tealish color with gold in it. It's simply stunning. It was so much pigmentation it's unreal. $16

My 2nd favorite is called Surreal by MAC. This one is more teal than green and it also has some gold in it. With the camera flash this also appears to have some blue in it. This has great pigmentation but not as good as the Urban Decay. MAC 14.50

Both are the same size... 1.5g.

Estee Lauder Holiday blush palette

I got this blush palette in their holiday box set for Christmas from my Grandpa. That was thoughtful of him! *smiles*
This palette is pretty decent. It's pretty small and great to throw in your purse. It's like 2x3 in size.
The first color in the palette (left to right)is called Bronze Goddess. It's a beautiful brown bronzer with gold flecks. Perfect for some color on your face and works as an amazing contour.
Second color is called Nude Rose and it's a dark peach pink... this one is just alright. It's pretty but not my fave.
And lastly is called Pink Kiss. This is a bright pink color with gold flecks. Looks kinda close to NARS orgasum but with more pigmentaion.
These are all signature colors so I believe you can buy them separatly at Estee Lauder.

TAG! 10 things I can't live without!

I tag you! Whoever wants to do this..please do. It's a fun way to get to know each other better!:)

1. My 3 boys (husband and two sons). I couldn't live a day without them.

2. My computer/Internet. It's seriously my life line. I freak out if we ever lose connection!

3. Make-up, of course. I wouldn't live without Bare Minerals, a good eyelash curler, mascara and lip gloss.

4. Coca-cola. Yummy! I've converted to caffeine free regular coke though. I had to otherwise my baby would be wired on caffeine and wouldn't sleep plus it's better for you. Coke is horrible for you but at least I'm not putting the caffeine in me!

5. Tan skin. I know that in my videos I love suuuppeerr pale but I'm really not that color. I always film by a big window with sunlight coming in...so it totally washes me out and makes me look like Casper.

6. My favorite shows such as Desperate Housewives, The Hills, The Bachelor, anything on HGTV!

7. Pointy toe black boots. I'm only 5'2" so I need all the help I can get.

8. DVR... oh my gosh. How did I EVER live without it. I love being able to tape all my favorite shows and pause or rewind whenever I need to.

9. My iPhone. I love being able to check the weather, Internet, world time all that the touch of a button.

10. CHI Silk infusion...need I say more!:)

Why did I ever switch to foundation?

As most of you know I've been using Bare Minerals since 2005...I had a long love affair with it and raved about it to everyone. This year I kinda got bored and wanted to switch it up a bit.. why why why? When you find something good... stick with it. I started using foundatian and it hasn't been so kind and loving to my face. Don't get me wrong I have found some great foundations and for a night out when you want more coveage foundation is GREAT! Something just never looked right when I was using foundation. I never got that flawless natural look like I did when I was using BM. Anyone who is anyone knows about Bare Minerals so I'm not going to explain what it's all about but let me tell you... the love affair is back on! Why did I ever leave my precious Bare Minerals for foundation. Never again.
If I wanna feel good and look the most like MYSELF than Bare Minerals is what I need. Like I said...foundation just doesn't look good on me for day to day use.
Ahhhh...I'm so happy I've come back to Bare Minerals!:)

Does anyone else feel this way about foundation compared to BM or is it just me?

Help girls! I need advice!

Ok, so I'm so tired of my wavy/curly hair!! It takes wayyy to long to style and never looks right. I've been doing some research about different professional hair straighteners/relaxers.
I heard about one called the Japanese Hair Straightener. It costs about &400+ ($100 an hour) but it makes your hair extremely straight, smooth and silky. You don't even need to blow dry your hair! I read some reviews about it online and makeupalley and everyone raves about it! 97% would do it again on MUA. The price is a little too much for me and I don't know if I want my hair poker straight for a year. I don't think my hair looks that good flat like that but NO BLOWDRYING!!! I'm sold.

The other one the girl at the salon told me about was by Rusk and it was called the Anti Curl. This one does make your hair pretty straight but still leaves some body which I really like. It's only $100 with cut and style. MUCH BETTER! However, the reviews aren't so great. Only like %67 people on MUA would do it again. Some said it totally ruined their hair and didn't really do anything and others said it worked amazingly.

So, my question you is... have you done one of these or know of someone who has. If so... how did it work and was it worth it?

I have the type of hair that if I even highlight it it's fried and frizzy! I have pretty dry hair that breaks easily!
